At WE SPEAK SPANISH, we believe in the power of education and responsibility towards our environment. As part of our commitment to the environment and sustainability, we are pleased to announce the launch of our Corporate Social Responsibility initiative: “One Student, One Tree”.
We understand that in our endeavor to provide quality education to international students, the use of resources like paper is essential for the learning process. However, we are also conscious of the importance of minimizing our environmental impact and contributing to the care and regeneration of our planet.
Starting today and over the next 12 months, we will donate $2 for every student who joins our Spanish and English classes by month to plant trees in carefully selected areas to help offset the paper usage in our educational activities. With the monthly money collected, we will plant trees through our partner Planta Mi Arbol which has eight reforestation projects around Costa Rica. Our goal at the end of the year is to plant at least 150 trees, equivalent to 3,300 kilos of CO2 mitigated. This initiative not only symbolizes our commitment to sustainability but also represents our gratitude to each student for joining our learning community and contributing to this noble cause.
By embracing the “One Student, One Tree” initiative, we aim to achieve the following objectives:
- Paper Usage Mitigation: We acknowledge that paper is a valuable and limited resource. By planting a tree for every student, we seek to balance the ecological footprint of our educational activities and promote forest conservation.
- Sustainable Reforestation: We will collaborate with local organizations and forestry experts to ensure that the trees are planted in areas that are in most need of regeneration. This will help restore ecosystems and provide a habitat for wildlife.
- Environmental Awareness: Through this initiative, we want to raise awareness among our students about the importance of sustainability and how each small action can make a difference in environmental conservation.
We are excited about this new chapter in our school and hope that our students will join us in this collective effort towards a greener and healthier future. We will keep you updated on the progress of our initiative, the locations via gps where tree plantings will take place, pictures, a report of every specie planted, and a Certificate of proof of the amount of CO2 emissions reduced.
We sincerely thank each student for their ongoing support and for being a part of this journey towards a more sustainable world. Together, we are sowing the seeds of change.
Thank you for choosing WE SPEAK SPANISH and joining our mission of social and environmental responsibility!
